Led Zeppelin Promoter Wishes eBay Would Drop Dead and Die
From today's Guardian... Harvey Goldsmith sticks the boot into eBay and people selling on tickets to his money spinning concert...What we don't understand is why the promoters for these sort of events (see also Bob Geldof) get all hot and bothered when a few of their tickets and passcodes get put on eBay when they could do exactly the same thing? Why don't they put 1000 or so tickets on ebay and collect as much as possible from the true fans who were not lucky enough to even get on the website to register? If they don't want eBay touts to get rich then why not do it themselves and put the money in the pockets of the Education Fund that the concert is in aid of? Isn't that what this whole show is about? They had the perfect opportunity to make ALOT of money from people who are clearly willing to pay over the odds on eBay.

Lost Luggage Auctions
Ever wondered what happened to your lost suitcase? Chances are it was sold off at an auction and your favourite duds were flogged off on eBay. Every Tuesday Greasby’s in Tooting sell off piles of unclaimed luggage. It’s a complete lucky dip, you might get a suitcase full of designer gear or you could end up with a pile of dirty old washing but either way, the person we spoke to says she makes an average of £100 per suitcase by selling off the contents on eBay. Prices go from £8 a case to over £50 with people usually bidding on the best looking ones knowing that at least they can sell the case.Greasby’s auctions are held every Tuesday, at 10.30am, at Longley Road, Tooting, SW17 (020 8672 2972, www.greasbys.co.uk).
Other lost-luggage auctions take place at Wellers Auctions (01932 568 678, www.wellers-auctions.co.uk) in Guildford and at BCVA (0117 9533676 www.dnfa.com/bcva) in Bristol

Expensive eBay Typo / Misspelling
How much could missing a letter out cost you?Well in the case of this unfortunate it was $503,000. First link is his initial listing, the second is the guy who bought it and re-listed it. Ouch. eBay's expired auction tracking can be so harsh sometimes.

It follows on from a successful collaboration with Sainsbury’s for specially commissioned reusable shopping bags. The artist-designed travel wallets are distributed at travel interchanges nationwide, if you use the train check your local station as these are now fetching up to £25 on eBay

PING Two Colour / Two Tone Golf Balls
We saw these mentioned on the very enjoyable dayjobnuker.com and as occasional golf course hackers we took another look.Do you live near a golf course? It might be worth your while taking a stroll round the out of bounds areas on your way home or get fishing net and dip into the lakes when no one is looking. These two tone golf balls made by PING have become very collectable with some colour combinations going for £100 or more just for one ball. A quick look at the recently completed auctions in the US and Europe turns up the following and these are all for just one ball
Red / Silver - £100
Aqua / Turquoise - £60
White / Peach - £40
Green / Red - £35
Black / White - £30
Orange / Turquoise - £15
Pink / Blue - £7
There are hundreds of other combinations but any ball featuring gold, silver, or black will fetch a good price
It’s also worth looking on eBay for these two colour PING balls as people sell job lots of golf balls with these mixed in and not included in the auction title. Now, where’s my fishing net…
