Unearthing everyday treasures
Nintendo Wii - Christmas Stock
It's not quite at the same level of demand as Christmas last year (yet) but Nintendo Wiis are going out of stock accross the UK and as a result they are currently going for £50-£60 above the RRP on eBay.
Might be worth buying and selling a couple if you see them somewhere in stock, especially as the demand is only going to increase in the run up to Christmas.

Secret Get Rich Quick Info eBooks from eBay
It never ceases to amaze us the money people will pay to get ‘secret’ get rich quick info from eBay where you can get it on the internet elsewhere for free. Take this smarmy seller for example. He claims that he has made so much he’s bought a BMWhttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/I-will-let-u-C...QQcmdZViewItem
Anyway his big idea, not that it is his idea – he is just reselling an eBook, is that you spend time searching for expensive books on eBay then buy the same ones from Abebooks or Amazon for cheaper… and then resell back on eBay.
The no outlay part that he refers to is the fact that you e-mail the seller on Abebooks and ask to reserve it for 10 days. Then you then ask for pictures of the book (or use the ones on eBay), use these for an eBay listing, set up your listing, get payment, then pay for the book of Abebooks and pocket the difference.
So if you are thinking of buying one of these get rich quick books just have a look round the internet first, you will probably find it free somewhere such as floodle.net. And despite what they say 9 times out 10 the seller won’t refund you if you’re not happy.

Baby Born Look Mummy I Can Swim Doll
As far as we can gather these dolls were selling in Argos for £19.99 last month but as the demand for Christmas ramps up they are fetching up to £45 and more on eBay at the moment. One of this year's must haves?Comments (1) 13.11.2007. 10:09
U2 With or Without You LaserDisc
Bono continues to tell anyone that will listen that he still hasn't found what he's looking for...Amongst all the U2 memorabilia is this "With or Without You" LaserDisc worth a staggering £450... Could that be the elusive item?
Thanks to Paul for sending this in

Unlocked Apple iPhones
A few of these have already started apearing on eBay before they go on sale in the UK tomorrow and are fetching £500-£600 already, compared with the RRP of £269. We're not entirely sure there is much money to be made from one of these considering you have to take out an 18 month contract with O2 and then get it unlocked.
They will no doubt flood onto eBay over the weekend but it might be worth keeping an eye on the prices for the first day or two especially if they sell out in the shops.

Wade Natwest Pigs
We saw these mentioned in Jamie Breese’s guide below. This family of five characters; Sir Nathaniel Westminster the father, Lady Hillary the mother, Maxwell the boy, Annabel the girl and Woody the baby, were given to children holding accounts with the Bank, depending on the balance achieved. The characters have become real collectors pieces and now regularly appear on ebay where a full set in good condition with boxes can go for £200
There have also been a couple of other more recent additions including the Golden Annabel NatWest Wade Pig of which only 400 were made. These were made available in June 2007 and already command a price of around £700 on eBay But as with just about anything on eBay there aer of course a number of fakes around. Check this site for some tips on what to look out for.

eBay - A Guide to Hidden Treasure
eBay recently published ‘A Guide to Hidden Treasure’ which highlights the hidden gems many of us have stashed away in our lofts, old toy boxes or at the back of our wardrobes. Written by Jamie Breese, TV’s collectables expert, the Guide also predicts the top ten collectables of the future which includes early Mobile phones, Milenium Dome collectables, NatWest Piggy banks, TV and film memorabilia, iPods, iPhones, 1990 icons and of course the ever popular eBay branded goodies. Our forgotten toys, dusty books, hidden away china or even early computers could be worth lots of money. The Guide offers advice on what to look out for when rummaging through your house for hidden treasures.
Jamie Breese has been the presenter and expert on numerous TV series from ITV1’s Everything Must Go! and This Morning to BBC2’s, The Life Laundry and The Antiques Show. You can download a free copy of Jamie Breese’ Guide to Hidden Treasures. It’ll open in Adobe Acrobat as a .pdf document.

The Independent Guide to eBay 2008 - Simon Brew
Dennis Publishing produce an annual comprehensive guide to eBay and the 2008 guide has been published this month, available for £7.99 in shops, or £6.39 on Amazon.co.uk
Most surprisingly though was a review of this very site and a generous four out of five stars from the author Simon Brew. You can read the review here, which was kindly scanned and sent over to us by Steve at powersellersforum.comSo thanks to everyone who reads these pages - hopefully someone is finding them useful! Cheers

Starbucks Cards
We mentioned the Starbucks Coffee Mugs and City Mugs before but we heard recently that the gift cards are also becoming quite collectable. This is demonstrated by the fact that the London Big Ben Gift Card can fetch up to £10 even if there is no credit on the thing.Prices seem the same for equivalent cards from other countries and cities but they appear to be attracting gradually higher prices as they become rarer. The general selling price seems to be around £6-7 and there are scores of designs available... so think twice before chucking it away when the credit has run out!
However there is one card that is attracting a much higher price at the moment. It is the BLACK/CARIBBEAN CARD, which was released in November 2006 in the UK.

With the original card sleeve it has been fetching £120 and slightly less if on its own. Definitely worth keeping your eye out for.
Have a look at this site for a full and comprehensive guide
